2025 Tackle Football

Program Overview

  • Grades: 5th Grade - 8th Grade

  • League: Central Utah Football League (CUFL)

  • Goals: Skill Development, Teamwork, Personal Growth, Safety, and Fun

  • Mission: To teach the fundamentals of football while fostering sportsmanship, discipline, and a positive experience for all.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be registered in school and play in the grade level they attend.

  • No 4th Graders allowed.

  • No Player may play more than 5 years in CUFL

  • No switching between teams once the season begins.

  • Must Play for the school in which they are enrolled.

Registration Information

  • Fee: $150 (includes jersey, league fee, use of equipment)

    • Concussion & Head Injury Policy Acknowledgement

    • Medical Release Form

    • NSR Athlete + Parent Packet

  • Refund Policy:

    • Before Registration Deadline: Full Refund issued upon request

    • After Deadline but Before First Practice: 50 % refund available upon request

    • After First Practice: No refunds unless a medical reason is documented by a licensed physician.

    • All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Recreation Director.

    • Refunds will be processed within 2-3 weeks of approval.

    • Refunds will not be granted for weather-related cancellations, suspensions due to disciplinary action or personal schedule conflicts.

What to Bring

  • Cleats (No metal)

  • Practice Clothes (shirts, shorts, waterbottle)

  • Mouth Guard (Mandatory)

  • Game Socks

Weigh-In & X-Man Policy

  • Helmet is required at weigh-in for sticker placement.

  • Players exceeding weight limit receive a helmet sticker and become "X-Men".

  • X-Men cannot carry the ball or play skill positions.

  • Must attend official weigh-in or will automatically be X-Men.

  • Weight Limits:

    • 5th - 6th Grade: 120 lbs

    • 7th Grade: 130 lbs

    • 8th Grade: 140 lbs

Game Rules & Expectations

  • 8-Minute quarters with 5-minute halftime

  • Miniumum 8 plays per player per game (special teams count)

  • Mercy Rule and Blitzing Rules in effect (Refer to league rules)

  • No running up the score ; sportsmanship required

  • Only coaches and players allowed on the sideline (passes required)


Coaches Section

  • Requirements:

    • Head Coach: 21+ Years Old

    • Assistants: 18+ Years Old

    • Trainees: 16+ with approval

  • Must pass background check before player contact

  • CPR / First Aid / Concussion training required for 2 staff members

  • Maintain accurate player and medical records.

Game Day Guidelines

  • Home Team Supplies EMT for each game.

  • Chain crew and scoreboard operators assign per home/away designation

  • Spectators must remain outside fenced area or in bleachers

  • Sideline box: 25 - yard line to 25-yard line

  • Coaches are responsible for sideline conduct.

Safety & Concussion Policy

  • Follow North Sevier Concussion Policy (HB 204 Compliant)

  • Athletes suspected of a concussion must:

    • Be removed immediately

    • Evaluated by qualified healthcare professional

    • Submit medical clearance before return to play

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What if my child misses weigh-ins?

    • They will be labeled as an X-Man and cannot carry the ball

  • Can an overweight player play?

    • Yes, but with restrictions as an X-Man.

  • Who do I talk to with questions?

    • Reanna Batt, the North Sevier Recreational Director, should be your first contact.

  • What happens if we can't attend games?

    • Communicate with your coach ASAP. Forfeits may result in penalties.

  • What if both teams have the same jersey color?

    • The home team must change or provide pinnies.
